June Update – A Fresh Start and Flying Form

June has been a hectic month full of racing, travelling, and big environment changes. It’s also been one of the most defining months of my season so far.

Although I haven’t touched on it publicly before, this year has been mentally challenging in terms of my team situation in France. Since arriving at the start of the year, things didn’t pan out as expected. I won’t go into too much detail, but after months of ongoing issues and the mental fatigue that came with it, I made the decision at the start of June to leave ACP Baud.

Straight after, I travelled home to rest, reset, and re-energise for the second half of the season. That time away was exactly what I needed. I came back feeling fresh, motivated, and mentally back in the game. I quickly got stuck into racing again, now riding for my home club, BNECC. My return started with a round of the U23 National Series, where I raced aggressively throughout — maybe a bit too eagerly. I ended up cramping in the final sprint, but it was great to be back attacking and racing with confidence.

With momentum building, I jumped into a block of time trials — my favourite discipline. It began at the F11/10, where I placed 4th overall, 1st Espoir, and clocked a new PB of 18:20 over 16.1km. The following weekend I backed that up with a win at the BNECC 25, my home club TT. I finished the 40km course in 50:25, another personal best and a strong ride from start to finish.

Buzzing from those results, I lined up for the U23 National TT Championships. While it wasn’t a major season target, I was keen to see how I stacked up. The course was tough with a nasty 24% kicker mid-way. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of time in the opening sector due to some early issues, which ultimately hurt my overall result. But there were big positives: I posted one of the fastest times on the longest sector of the course, showing my form and TT strength. I also improved on my result from last year, which is always a step in the right direction.

Rounding off the month, I raced the Southport D33/10 TT, where I continued my run of form and took another victory. I also broke the Espoir course record, finishing the 16.1km in 19:15 a great way to cap off the month.

Looking ahead, I’m heading back to France — this time with a fresh mindset, new purpose, and racing for my British team. I’m fully focused, mentally sharp, and ready to fight for top results. The reset has worked, and now I’m excited for what the rest of the season has in store.
